Toledo is A-mazing! It's one of the oldest, and best kept intact ancient cities. It was ridiculously hot there, and we bought more sunscreen and water than I've purchased in my life, as well as big floppy hats (mine was red and I loved it, but sadly I sacrificed it to the travel gods and forgot it in Madrid). We were afraid of heat stroke if we walked, so we bought tickets to ride a little baby train tour around the city. It was a fabulous decision- we got to see everything- the city is surrounded by water on three sides, and we got great views of the water, bridges, castles, and city as a whole. It was only a one hour train ride south from Madrid to get there, so it was a nice day trip.
